We renovated our living room (along with the rest of our home) back in March 2020, and earlier this year, I partnered up with Lick to transform this space into our dream living room…

Paint
As the front of our house is north facing, we don’t get much light in our living room. With this in mind, I wanted to keep the room nice and light, so I opted for Pink 03 for the walls which is a gorgeous muted bubblegum shade. For a real contrast, I painted our ceilings in Green 05, a dusky olive shade, which matches our green sofa perfectly.

Wallpaper
I wanted to create a feature wall behind our DIY rattan ivar unit (see tutorial for this here) and thought wallpaper would be the perfect way to do this. I chose Lick’s Electric Poppies 02, designed by Studio Coverdale. This stunning wallpaper features pink and green botanicals, including the two shades chosen for my living room. It also has hints of Green 04, a warm dark green with hint of blue, which I used for my kitchen units. With these two rooms leading to one another, this wallpaper is a great way to connect the two.

Renovation
When we got our house back in 2020, the living room chimney breast had been exposed and had a multi-fuel burner installed (yay!). We kept the chimney breast exposed and added a custom pink neon from Yellowpop. Jack built us some alcove shelving either side, which I painted in Pink 03 to match the walls.

Initially, we wanted to restore our floor boards like we did in our bedroom, but in the end went with a more practical option with a natural laminate flooring from B&Q.
We bought new 4 panel shaker doors for downstairs (including one with glass sections to let as much natural light from the kitchen through) fitted with brass knobs and painted in pink – of course.

The majority of our windows were single glazed wooden sash windows, including our big living room window. We replaced this with a double glazed PVC sash window, keeping the look of the original style. We restored the window panelling, and added matching dado rails to the walls.

Styling
Now for the fun part… styling! The first thing I bought for our living room was the gorgeous poppy field rug from French Connection. This was a great starting point for our colour scheme, and I chose lots of pink and mint coloured accessories based on this rug.
I LOVE pink and green, so it felt only natural to go for two contrasting sofas in these colours, mirroring our Lick paint choices. Our main sofa is the 2 seater Scott sofa from Made.com in grass. We then opted for the Zinc cuddler sofa from DFS in blush to go in front of the window (which is definitely Ella & Peach’s favourite spot!).

I added various brass elements into the room, including bigger pieces such as our mirror and coffee table, as well as smaller accessories like wall lights and candle stick holders.
I love brass and rattan together, alongside our Ivar sideboard hack, I added a matching pendant light and rattan accessories such as plant pots and baskets.

And there it is… my living room makeover with Lick! This room is my ultimate happy place, filled with all my favourite colours!
