With both Jack and I working from home for the majority of the week, we wanted to prioritise getting a proper home office together in our new home.
With just four items, we created our new stylish duo desk in a matter of minutes… and all for just under £325!

Lockers
We started off by using two Mustard Made lockers in sage green for the base of our desk. As well as looking great, these lockers are practical storage spaces for a home office.
Worktop
We wanted a relatively long desk for the two of us to work at comfortably. Most desk tops you can buy off the shelf only went up to 2 metres, and when considering the width of the lockers, this didn’t leave much working space.
We looked into having a custom desk top made, but this option came out pretty pricey with the size we were after. We then came across the IKEA SÄLJAN worktop which comes as 246cm x 63.5cm as standard… the perfect desk size! Better yet, it only cost £75! Designed to be used for a high-traffic kitchen, this laminate worktop makes the perfect use for a long desk!
Adjustable leg
To give the desk that extra support, we installed one leg in the middle. I recommend using this adjustable leg from IKEA so you can customise it to your desk height.
Office chairs
To finish off the space, we received two gorgeous office chairs from Slouch.
Slouch allow you to customise the appearance of your chair to work for your space. I chose the grey frame with arms, in the ‘pink’ fabric — a perfect colour match for my home office!
