Since we moved into our new home in October, we’ve been slowly transforming our kitchen/dining space.
The previous owners hadn’t long fitted a new good quality kitchen, so it’s been a case of making a few tweaks to put our stamp on it…

Open Shelves
To brighten up the space, we removed the units on the back wall. As an alternative, we fitted two rows of open shelves, filled with the perfect balance of practical items including canisters, mugs, glasses and salt & pepper shakers, and decorative pieces such as plants, candles and prints.

Appliances
We installed a new Smeg range cooker and matching extractor fan in-between the shelving, and styled with my favourite oven glove and tea towels.
We were in need of a new kettle and toaster, and treated ourselves to a smeg kettle and toaster in pastel green.

Tiles
As we were keeping the navy kitchen units, I wanted to add a pop of colour. We removed the existing quartz splash-back and replaced with pink zellige tiles {pr discount} reaching up to the open shelving and extractor fan.

Handles
We swapped out the existing chrome handles for some statement brass hexagonal handles {pr products} which add a warmth to the navy cabinets.

Breakfast Bar
On the other side of the kitchen, at the breakfast bar, we kept one of the existing shelves for our ‘coffee station’.

Coffee Station
This area is perfect for mornings, with our coffee machine, coffee pods, bar stools and of course… the perfect print.

Dining Space
Behind the breakfast bar, we have our dining space. We created a feature wall with the gorgeous Eleanor Bowmer goddess wallpaper and lobster neon sign.
For extra storage, we use our IKEA hack sideboard to store our ‘fancy’ crockery and glassware. We went for the Swoon ‘Hewinson’ range for our table, benches and bar stools, creating a relaxed dining space.

And there it is… our little kitchen makeover!
Whether it’s adding statement tiles, changing handles or using accessories for pops of colour, there are so many ways you can tweak your kitchen on a budget…
