I thought I’d share all the details of our pink living room makeover!
When we bought the house, the walls, carpet and curtains were all grey which wasn’t really my vibe. Here’s how we transformed the space into a bright, colourful, pink paradise…
Pink Paint
We loved the contrast of our green sofa and pink walls in our last home, so wanted to recreate this here too. We went for a slightly darker shade, Lick Pink 05 {pr product}, and painted up to the existing dado rails. It’s such a beautiful, warm pink which totally brightens up the space!
Rug
Before we completed on the sale, I came across the Ourika berber rug from La Redoute, which became the starting point for the colour scheme in this room… all the colours of the rainbow!
Sofas
Luckily, we managed to fit our two existing sofas into this space, with the green Scott sofa positioned on the back wall, and our pink cuddler in the bay window.
Lighting
We changed the existing chrome wall lights for our brass industrial style lights {pr products}. I wanted a statement piece for the main light, and went for a gorgeous metal pendant in a contrasting pink.
Alcove Shelving
As this room isn’t the biggest, we wanted to really utilise all of the space available. We had a cupboard and shelving built into the right alcove, which has given lots of storage (as well as some pretty styling opportunities!).
We painted the cupboard and shelves in the same colour as the walls, and then added pops of yellow, blue, green and red within the accessories.
Hearth Tiles
I wanted to add an extra pop of colour by the chimney breast and so decided to tile the hearth with some gorgeous ink blue porcelain tiles {pr discount} from Your Tiles. I came across some pink grout online (also available in lots of other funky colours) which adds a lovely contrast!
Carpet
Throughout the house, the existing carpet was very worn in places, so we replaced it with the Tapi Morocco range in the colour Rabat. We had this range in our last home, and it has such a lovely natural texture.
